"Much-Afraid looked at him and then said something she had never been willing
to say before. ‘I don’t think I mind so very much if you do; only have your
will and way in me, Shepherd. Nothing else matters."
Here again Much-Afraid has only the Shepherd. She clings to him just as we should,
but with a twist. By this point, Much-Afraid has made great strides and has lost
and gained. She is to the point that she will trust the Shepherd without question.
She will not doubt his requests or question him. She is laying herself wide open
for the Shepherd to do whatever He feels necessary. By just reading this quotation
you don’t know what she is called to do. Could you say yes not knowing what God
wants you to do? Can you trust God enough to let him have all of you your hopes
and dreams, your family, your life? Can you place it in His hands and say, "Here.
I don’t mind what you do with it, only you matter"?
Prayer: I know that I don’t trust you like that God. But here as hard as
it is, I give it all to you. Nothing else matters, but what you want for me. If
you know that I am not yet ready to trust you this way then make me ready.
