A Fairly Short, Yet Concise, List of Biographical Facts:
Janel Messenger is a wife, homeschooling mom of 4, piano playing homemaker who loves
to sew, reader, mentor, editor, speaker and author but most importantly, she is
a passionate godly woman serving the Lord since she was a young girl.
Janel grew up firmly planted at one spot in rural Pennsylvania. She married Rich
in 1994. Since then, Janel has lived in six different places scattered throughout
three states, half a continent away from each other. She loves the ocean, watching
"good dress" movies, baking fattening goodies and writing old fashioned letters
with dip pen, ink & sealing wax.
More of the Story:
As a little girl, Janel was a vivacious, first-born, sanguine who never walked down
stairs. Much like Winnie the Pooh's friend Tigger, she bounced. With energy and
enthusiasm, she was always near the center of activity growing up. Bouncing through
childhood, life was lively on the family’s small hobby farm in Western Pennsylvania.
This talkative little girl had a fairly uneventful childhood surrounded by the people
she loved most.
A bump in the road changed her life drastically the summer of 1983. Janel lost her
grandfather to cancer. As the dust settled, her grandmother moved in with their
family adding ups & downs for many years to come. It was sharing a bedroom with
Grandma where Janel first remembers learning the Lord’s Prayer and 23rd Psalm before
falling asleep at night.
Janel meet her future husband at a Bible camp where he was speaking. Because she
was several years younger, Rich ignored her! A few years later they would develop
a long distance friendship. Years after that, Rich noticed Janel “grew up” and was
a bit intrigued. After seeking direction from God, he proposed. They were married
and began their match made by heaven February 1994. Mind you, thunder and lightening
are made in heaven too!
Friendship turned to love, love turned into marriage, and their marriage has produced
four growing blessings: Joshua, Benjamin, Christopher & Ariana. But their marriage
produced more than just children. As chaos reigned in domestic bliss and harsh words
became standard dinner fare, their marriage produced the perfect environment for
God to work in Janel’s heart. God took her on an incredible journey of growth that
has turned her into the woman she is today.
With the childlike energy that had her bounding down staircases at 5, Janel is redirecting
that energy to impact the world’s women for Jesus. This passionate lady is taking
everyone willing, on a white-knuckle ride of faith into the heart of Jesus. Check
