Some people think the Christian Woman's Page has a normal office with
editorial directors, web designers and other full time employees. Actually, the
CWP is just one woman, Janel Messenger, and
her awesome web developing husband, Rich. We have a passion for the written word
and a desire for others to walk more fully in Christ. We work out of our home between
family, work, church ministry, cookie crumbs and life in general.
CWP History
As I was surfing the web one day in the spring of 1998, I happened upon a highly
visited secular women's website. After a few minutes of browsing article titles,
I was disappointed by the shallow and immoral content presented. I felt convicted
that Christian women should have web pages where they could receive godly encouragement
and inspiration on various topics. After searching only revealed arguments for headcoverings
and temperance, the vision of the CWP was born. I'm thrilled to see that
others have joined me in the quest to provide Christian women with godly web content
during the last ten years.
When the idea for the CWP surfaced, I shared it with my good friend
Elizabeth Fabiani. It just happened that God, working as only God can, had
prompted her to start sharing her writing around that time. With encouragement,
she wrote. After her school year let out for the summer, she wrote upwards of 5
articles a day. That began the original content of the CWP. Liz worked with
the CWP as my right hand woman and Assistant Editor for about 9 years. She's
now moved on to marriage and other projects.

After publishing for almost 10 years, I have repeatedly been amazed at how God has
used our humble offering. We've heard from reader's touched by articles.
We've had a couple folks who wanted to fillet us! Liz & I have attended
writer's conferences as faculty editors, meeting authors face to face, as well
as ministering to their spiritual needs. We’re listed in The Christian Writer’s Market
Guide as a "real" magazine going for our fourth year now! We have
also moved web servers, made multiple changes in the look and technical side of
the CWP.
Overall, I have always been a women with the desire to encourage other women into
a closer, passionate and more loving relationship with Jesus Christ. I am very blessed
to have a husband who supports and encourages me in this endeavor. The CWP
lets me do it and makes it easy for others to help me in my quest. I have no theological
degrees, unless you count faith by "trial and prayer". I've struggled
with faith, hope, love and perseverance among other things. I'm probably not much
different from you. I have just lived my call by publishing the CWP. I encourage
you to live and be what God has called you to be as well!
